QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
What is Vault Clerk?
Vault Clerk is a desktop app for independent musicians. It suggests where each file in a messy Inbox belongs in your vault, searches inside your documents, and answers briefs such as sync requests and live offers with filled paperwork, the right audio and a rights summary. You approve every step.
Do my files go online?
No. Vault Clerk runs on your own computer and opens in your browser at a private local address. Nothing is uploaded, and the app needs no account and no cloud.
Will Vault Clerk delete or move my files?
No. It copies files into your vault and your Inbox keeps every original. It never deletes anything: duplicates and junk go to a Trash folder inside your vault that only you empty. Every action is shown as a plan first, and nothing happens until you say yes.
Does Vault Clerk use AI?
Filing works mostly from clear rules and how you've filed before, and it learns from your corrections. A local AI model is optional and runs on your own computer. Nothing is sent to a cloud AI, and your identity and tax drawer is never sent to any AI.
Can Vault Clerk send emails or share files for me?
No. It builds the package or pitch room, and you send or upload it yourself. Pitch rooms are password-protected pages that expire on the date you set, uploaded to your own web host.
Which computers does Vault Clerk run on?
macOS 10.15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).
How do I get Vault Clerk?
Vault Clerk is in an early beta. Apply for the beta and we invite people in small groups; the download link is emailed to invited testers only. Beta testers get a free licence at launch. The app will be licensed to you, for good, and prices haven't been set yet.
Who makes Vault Clerk?
Vault Clerk is made by Craving Sofa Entertainment, the independent music house that also makes GenreMatch.
